Our Story

WeeWheel started with a simple question from a child: “Why can’t riding bikes be like soccer practice?”

In 2023, our founder Whitney Mulder set out to create a better way for kids to learn to ride—one built on strong foundations, play, and confidence. What began as a small local program quickly grew into a thriving community helping hundreds of children ride each week.

Today, WeeWheel is more than bike lessons. It’s a place where kids discover independence, families build connection, and childhood memories are made on two wheels. Our mission is simple: help kids learn to ride, build confidence for life, and bring the joy of cycling to communities everywhere.

Meet Whitney

I’m so glad you’re here.

WeeWheel started in 2023 with a simple question from my own children: “Why can’t riding bikes be like soccer practice?” That moment sparked an idea that has grown into a movement helping hundreds of kids ride every single week.

I’m a second-time founder with a background in fitness and youth development, and movement has always been at the center of my life. I competed at the Ironman World Championship, found my love of bikes through triathlon, and I’m also an avid equestrian who enjoys horseback riding and playing polo. But more than anything, I’m a mom who believes childhood should be full of confidence, freedom, and joy.

As a single mom and a Richmond, Virginia native, I built WeeWheel to create something I wanted for my own kids—a safe, joyful place where children can grow, build independence, and experience the simple magic of riding a bike.

Today, our mission is bold but simple: to help 1 million kids learn to ride bikes and bring WeeWheel to every city in the U.S. We’re not just teaching kids to ride—we’re helping them build confidence that lasts a lifetime.

We’re so grateful you’re here and can’t wait to welcome your family to WeeWheel.
